Jupiter sits at the northern end of Palm Beach County, where the Loxahatchee River meets the Atlantic at the Jupiter Inlet. It’s quieter than Palm Beach Island, and its weddings tend to be the same way: a ceremony by the water, an easy cocktail hour, and a reception that runs late into a warm evening. Cala Strings provides string quartets, trios, duos, and solo violinists for weddings and events across Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Jupiter Island, and Palm Beach Gardens, led by violinist Alex Weill, who has played on Grammy- and Emmy-winning projects.

Lighthouse and Inlet Ceremonies

The red Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, first lit in 1860, is one of the most photographed ceremony backdrops in South Florida. Ceremonies on the lighthouse grounds and along the inlet are outdoors and often breezy, so a few details matter for live strings. We’ll ask about shade for the musicians, since direct sun and humidity are hard on instruments, and about a covered backup spot in case of an afternoon storm. A solo violin or string duo is an easy fit for a smaller lighthouse ceremony, while a full string quartet gives a larger guest list a fuller sound outdoors.

Oceanfront and Intracoastal Receptions

Jupiter’s oceanfront resorts and the restaurants and terraces around Harbourside Place on the Intracoastal host many of the area’s receptions and rehearsal dinners. A typical plan is strings for the ceremony, then the same ensemble moving to the terrace for cocktail hour music while guests watch the sunset over the waterway. If you’d like pop and modern songs arranged for strings alongside the classical favorites, take a look at our repertoire.

Private Clubs and Gated Communities

Much of Jupiter’s social life happens at private clubs such as Admirals Cove and Jonathan’s Landing, and at country clubs in neighboring Palm Beach Gardens. Club events usually have their own vendor requirements, load-in rules, and event staff. Tell us your club’s guidelines and we’ll plan arrival, setup, and timing around them.

Choosing an Ensemble for Your Jupiter Event

  • Solo violin: intimate ceremonies, lighthouse elopements, and background music for small dinners.
  • String duo: a fuller sound that still fits a small terrace or garden.
  • String trio: a good middle ground for mid-size ceremonies and cocktail hours.
  • String quartet: the classic choice for larger weddings, ballrooms, and outdoor ceremonies with a big guest list.

Pricing and Travel

Jupiter is in Palm Beach County, which is part of our standard service area, so there’s no added travel fee. Starting rates for each ensemble are on our pricing page. Every event is different, so the best next step is to tell us about your event. We’ll talk through your date, venue, and the music you have in mind before putting together your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there travel fees for events outside Miami?
We serve all of South Florida. Events within Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties are included in our standard pricing. Events in Naples, Orlando, the Florida Keys, or other locations may include a travel fee. We'll provide a complete quote including any travel costs upfront — no surprises.
Do you perform at outdoor events?
Yes, we regularly perform outdoors at gardens, beaches, estates, and waterfront venues throughout South Florida. For outdoor events, we recommend having a shaded area or backup indoor space in case of inclement weather, as instruments are sensitive to direct sun and rain.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 3-6 months in advance for weddings, especially during peak season (October through May in South Florida). Corporate events and private parties can often be accommodated with 2-4 weeks notice, depending on availability. Popular dates book quickly, so earlier is always better.
